Jerry's Bark Is Worse Than His Bite
By gum! Jerry the terrier has won the hearts of staff at a re-homing centre with his toothless smile.
The eight-year-old terrier's teeth became diseased and had to be taken out.
But despite his gummy appearance,he's
become one of the success stories of the centre in Northampton.
He's now being looked after by a local family.
Centre spokesman Val Ingham said "Jerry was absolutely adorable to look after.
"Because he had no teeth, his tongue tended to stick out a lot and it was difficult for all the staff who fell in love with him to see him go.
"However,it is great to see abandoned dogs find new homes and we are always on the lookout for people who can help the animals.
"When people are thinking about getting a dog, they often immediately think of puppies.
"But as Jerry has proved, older dogs make just as good companions."
