Saintly Soccer Team Give Themselves The Red Card

A soccer team of goody two-shoes have sent themselves off their own home pitch because they are too embarrassed by foul-mouthed opponents.

Coombe Casuals have always played home matches in a picturesque village in Devon.

But the pitch is right in the middle of the village and is often passed by people out for a genteel sunday afternoon stroll.

The team have now decided enough is enough and have shown themselves the red-card as they say the swearing was just too much.

"We kept on asking opposing teams to keep the swearing down," said manager Gary Lown."But it didn't make a blind bit of difference.

"Sometimes the air was blue with foul language and villagers would keep complaining and asking us to cut out the cussing.

"But it wasn't us - it was the opposing teams," he said.

Now the side has found a new ground in Torquay which is no-where near any houses.

Gary added "We were always very careful to mind our language. We are not a bunch of goody-goodies but it is not necessary to swear all the time.

"When you play around old folk and people out walking their dogs with small children, you have to be more careful.

"In the end we thought it was fairer all round to move rather than upset anyone any more."
