Angler Hooks A Whopper...Himself!!

An angler hoping to hook a whopper during a fishing trip off the South coast was left red-faced...when he managed to hook himself in the tongue!

Holidaymaker Michael Rowlands,aged 35,from Lancashire,was left in agony after getting a hook stuck in his tongue during the trip off Weymouth.

He'd spent the day dreaming of seeing something large on the end of his line as he fished on a charter boat six miles out to sea.

He never imagined it would be him!

He had to be winched aboard a coastguard lifeboat and flown to hospital.

A spokesman for Portland coastguard said today "The Weymouth lifeboat was called out,but when it arrived,Mr Rowlands was in too much pain to be moved.

"The coastguard helicopter was scrambled and the casualty was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital for treatment."
