Milkman Delivers Sleeping Pensioners

It's not just milk that Mick Thrupp delivers to houses on his round.

He's had return a couple of sleepwalking pensioners too!

Streets in Wellington,Shropshire, are becoming more like a scene from an zombie movie according to Mick,as the old folk go on early-morning wanders.

The 55-year-old dairyman called police after spotting 80-year-old Dorothy Wheatley outside her home.

The freezing pensioner is thought to have spent more than two hours sleep-walking round the cul-de-sac where she lives before he spotted her at about 5.30am.

Mick said she was the second sleep-waling OAP he had found on his rounds in just under a week.

"A few days ago I found a 91-year-old man roaming the streets after climbing out of his bedroom window.

"He was very frightened and did not seem to realise how he had got outside" said the Express dairyman.

Mrs Wheatley said she was glad Mick was there to help her out.

"I have been sleep walking for the past two weeks but normally around my home.

"It is quite worrying that I went outside my home and don't remember."

Mrs Wheatley, who taught tailoring to mature students for 25 years, added "I am very grateful for his kindness because I probably would not have moved and would have ended up in hospital if he had not come along."
