Film Star's Luxury Home For Sale
Film star Edward Woodward and his actress wife Michelle Dotrice have put their elegant Cornish home up for sale, with a price tag of around £1 million.
The luxury home has its own pool, spacious reception rooms, four bedrooms, dressing rooms and two bathroooms.
It was a dream home for the famous
couple when they bought it over five years ago.
In addition there is a two-bedroom guest cottage and a detached three-bedroom house hidden in the property's 42 acres in the Tamar Valley.
News of the move is sure to come as a shock to locals who have been amazed at the way the couple have refused to live the secluded life-style.
The celebrities have not hidden themselves away and have become welcome and popular members of the local community.
They have always been willing to help out at local events when able and their presence has helped to raise money for various charities.
The couple say the reason for the move is that the old rectory home is now just too big for them.
"We just seem to rattle around inside it,and with great regret we have decided to sell" said Edward.
He and Michelle will not be moving far as they are to live in their second, smaller home in the Cornish fishing village of Padstow, near Newquay, where television chef Rick Stein has a restaurant.
Edward Woodward's love of the county
began when he was evacuated to the Duchy as a young boy during
the war.He vowed he would return one day.
The couple often fly the Cornish Flag of St Piran alongside the Union Jack on the flag pole next to their house.
Unlike many celebrities the couple have not hidden themselves away, and have become welcome and popular members of the local community.
The house is Grade II listed as being of significant architectural interest.
It was designed by the famous 19th century architect,Decimus Burton, who later laid out Hyde Park and the first giraffe house at London Zoo.
