Town Crier Left Howling After Attack

Oh Ye-ooww!

A town crier really had something to shout about when he was bitten by a dog while on duty.

Town crier Phylip de la Maziere was in full regalia in Oswestry town square when he was twice attacked by a black labrador running loose.

"The dog came flying at me as I stood on the Guildhall steps and he bit right through my livery socks.

"I wasn't shouting at the time but he was lucky I didn't hit him on the head with my bell."

He blamed an irresponsible owner for the attack and reported the incident to Oswestry Police.
