Doggy Bridesmaid Laps Up The Attention

While other guests at the wedding of Jenny Dobbins and Mike Newcombe toasted the couple with champagne,the bridesmaid was happy to lap a bowl of water.

For Jenny and Mike decided to put Lady,their Cocker Spaniel cross,at the centre of the marriage ceremony.

Nine-year-old Lady became 34-year-old Jenny's bridesmaid and padded alongside her as she walked down the aisle at her local church.

And when the couple head off for their deferred Cornish honeymoon in April,their star bridesmaid will join them.

Lady was a replacement for the couple's previous dog,Laddie the Jack Russell,who was going to be a page boy,but who sadly died before the big day.

Civil servant Mike,aged 43,said "She was really well behaved - better than some children would have been."
